Glad to hear about no battery issues. Did they get your weights? What size? I take a couple of 1# soft weights in my roll-on.

Staying and Diving with Blue Angel Inn..Anyone know them? or the instructors who work there? Any one else going by themselves?

You will love the BA, all rooms face the ocean, clean good sized rooms, safes, wifi in the lobby/restaurant and some of the rooms.
Restaurant is a good place to hang out, breakfast included, lunch on dive days, happy hour
from I believe 4-6, shore diving with free tanks and weights, nice shower, rinse tanks, and lockers for gears.
Dive shop folks are great, from Pony & Martin in the shop to the DM's Matteo, Jorge, and Jose. I like Jorge's style myself.
Gotta love that sweet little one at the front desk Andrea, so very helpful.
You won't be disappointed.
The one draw back is that it is located next to the street and there is road noise, not to bad as traffic is light at night.
I am a light sleeper and it was fine for me.
Oh and don't worry about being solo, you'll make friends and it will be fine.
Last thing: try the Victoria beer. oh yeah

They have a laminated page of prohibited carry on items. We didn't catch the listing for weights. We didn't run into this issue last May.

My husband tried to argue/ask for an explanation, but nothing provided other than "new policy". Since a representative of the military was standing by, I encouraged him to let it go. Weights are now property of ASUR. My trim weights were solid 1#s. I don't think I would chance the soft weights either.

I packed my spare Canon battery securely in the checked bags and had the other battery in the camera. No other issues and didn't get selected for the extra "goodbye search and frisk".
