More often than not, the aluminium tanks I run across in Oz are more likely to be 11.55lt or 10.35lt WC with a WP of 240 bar (95cft & 85cft respectively), than an 11.25lt WC with a WP of 207 bar (Luxfer Ali 80cft, in Oz).

PS. 3000psi = 207bar

Lots of places call an aluminium 80 cu ft tank a " 12 litre". Egypt for one, ive not yet seen a genuine 12l capacity aluminium tank. The aluminium-80 actual capacity is 11.2l.

Likewise the "15s" are actually 100 cu ft tanks real capacity 13.2l or so

The aluminium tanks operate at a lower working pressure than steel too (207 instead of 232 bar) so in reality an al-80 "12 litre" holds 2318l of gas whereas a genuine steel 12l holds 2784l (some 16% more gas)

Thanks for asking: I am told "aluminium".

OK it'll be an Aluminium 80 then. Buoyant so need extra lead to sink, physically heavier than a same rated steel on land and holds less gas. Welcome to the world of horrible back gas tanks!
