hi to all Dolphin users outside Japan,

yesterday. my battery for Oxygauge got dead. it's only 5 days prior to my departure to Palau.

naturally, i rashed to call some electronics shops and alas! i was deadly shocked to know that we did not have any batteries, suitable for Oxygauge, on sale in Japan!!! Fujitsu used to make it (2CR1/3 1H) but NOT ANY MORE.

the shop managers said that there were no stocks and that they could not take my purchase order. either. they even suggested that i should hunt for it in junk shops in Akihabara, the biggest electronics shop area in downtown Tokyo.

Oxygauge itself is still being sold by Aqualung in Japan, and so it's incredible that we cannot buy new batteries for that. i'm wondering what the situation is like in Europe, the US and Australia.

Hi ya,

New to the forum,

The draeger oxygauge takes a 28L 6v px28l battery by duracell. It is the same battery as the digital cameras. I have a battery specialist here in vancouver, BC, Canada that hooks me up with all kinds of batteries. He also built me a diverite battery for about 50 dollars can. Good luck and have fun.

They sell that battery here in Walmart in the US, I paid less then $9.00 for a replacment battery when mine when out. I bought a Duracell also that is used in Digital camera's, very easy to get.

Hey no problem, and It is alot cheaper I bet to !!

How do you like your Dolphin so far?

hi FLTEKDIVER,

so far, my Dolphin and i have been in good and sweet terms, and it has never disappointed me.

tomorrow i am going to dive my Dolphin in Izu Peninsula. it only takes about three hour drive from the center of Tokyo, and so it's like Monterey for San Franciscans. autumn in Izu waters is beautiful with lots of fish, better viz, and less people!
