I've used the garden hose attachment to the LPI valve for the last year since I had stuck a inflator button on by TUSA BCD. The BCD was only two years old with about 60 dives on it when I noticed that the inflator button would stick slightly open which was playing havoc with my buoyancy until I figured out what was happening. When I took the valve assembly apart, I found the spring and pin were corroded which cause the sticking problem. I had been very conscientious about cleaning my gear, soaking the BCD in fresh water after each dive and rinsing everything thoroughly. This regimen apparently wasn't getting the inflator valve rinsed so I added the garden hose rinse to get the valve thoroughly rinses.
