Hi

My husband is an avid diver and I am sort of a beginning diver, happy maybe doing 2-3 days of diving only, if at all. I was in mexico recently and didn't feel comfortable diving because the staff was not overly friendly and I need to feel really comfortable. Are the dive masters patient and kind here?

It seems that there are some snorkel trips that I can go on and there is a pool, nice beaches and a spa. Is this a nice resort for a couple who is craving a quiet vacation, romance and reading and walks on the beach with some water sports.

Do you have to rent kayaks or are they free.

Any thoughts on this resort?

I can't comment on the staff as I haven't been there in a number of years (simply because there's many other places I like to go to as well), but we've been there four times and always have a good time. The diving is great and quite convienient with good service. If you dive, it seems a shame to go there and not dive. I don't remember any special snorkel trips but I've seen the occasional snorkeler go out on the dive boat. The Bloody Bay wall in particular is famous for starting in shallow water, so good snorkeling and diving can be had in some of the same places, or if you just want to dive shallow and get more comfortable you can usually dive shallow and still see plenty.

The resort is a pretty nice place to hang out, yes pool, beach, hammocks, and all that with a small spa. If you want a quiet romantic place to veg out it fits the bill. The beach isn't real wide but it's a good place to walk on the beach, you can walk a long distance past the few other places and private homes. I think the kayaks are for rent.

Lots of people have been to LCBR, search on it or click on some of the "Similar Threads" at the bottom of the page to read more.

I would say if you want quiet you are headed in the right direction. Be aware there is abolutely nothing to do except dive, eat and sleep.

Tim and Damselfish!

Thank you so much.

My husband and I are very much looking for a place where we can read, relax, enjoy each other :07: and the scenery, do some diving, swimming and I am very excited about the spa!

We had a fabulous honeymoon in October of 2003 in Fiji (Tokoriki) and we know that we can't exactly have that, but something similar is what we are going for.

I am truly excited about having NOTHING to do, as we lead a busy life here in Los Angeles.

Thank you for your response!

I WILL DIVE!! :D

The spa at LCBR is quite small but they do good work. I had my first massage there a couple years back and was very happy.

Sez you! Clearly, you've never been initiated into the 10 meter club. IMHO, Little Cayman has everything a person could ever want! After all, what else is there meaningful to life besides dive/eat/sleep...and the 10m club? If LC isn't paradise on earth, I don't know what is.

I agree, but the walks on the beach my be a bit difficult, the beaches aren't all that big.

I just got back from LCBR a couple of weeks ago- I haven't got around to posting a full report. I was a bit concerned about the island being too quiet- but in the event I really enjoyed myself. No casinos etc., but the people were so pleasant and just being able to walk/cycle around the island gave me plenty to keep occupied (although I did more diving than you seem to intend to do). I brought a few books too!

The DMs at LCBR were very good, a wide variety of backgrounds, all knowledgeable about the marine environment and dive sites.

This was a great trip!

Thanks Everyone.

I am excited. I will do some diving, my husband will do more and we are looking forward to bike rides, walks, sleeping, eating, sunning, funning...this sounds perfect to us. We are not into Casinos, party scene and I am happy to bring many books and catch up on some good reading.

Thanks.
