I'm planning on diving the GBR in 2010 and am thinking about a liveaboard. But I get sea sick in rough water!! SO - in general what time of the year has the calmest sea? Mar-Apr? June-July? etc.

Hi,
The calmest seas are normally arround September and October with the best visibility.
Do a Ribbon Reefs and Coral Sea liveaboard over four nights for the best diving.
Take sea sick tablets if you need them - the diving is well worth it.
Have a look at Spoilsport she is a stable catamaran.

Agree with OnTheSpot for best months. Better temperatures too. Here is link on our site for yearly weather conditions and average water and land temeratures you may find useful.

Remember Coral Sea is a great trip but outside the protction of the Barrier Reef seas are rogher. Still Ok that time of year, but inside the Reef (Cod Hole etc) less rough.
