I just dove Buoy 32 and the Vandenberg this weekend. The Vandenberg was just sunk last week, so the was a small amount of algae growth. The ship is in an upright position and so large! Will be great to see in a few years.
I went out with Dive Key West, nice people who do everything for you. I like to set up and check my own gear; I used their rentals and they insisted that they set up the gear (even if it was your own). Buoy 32 was in terrible shape. The reef is nearly non existent. I've heard stories from Mississippi River runoff to dynamite fishing in the 70's. Whatever the case, a poor site to visit. Depth was less than 30 feet, makes for a long dive with little to see. Disappointing!
