Speaking of big triggers . . . here is the 2nd largest I have shot:

Mambo - that'd work :) Pretty much anywhere, but string them though their mouth and be REAL careful of that dorsal fin - there's a super-sharp barb camo'd in the fin. Tasty though! Their skulls are kind of bony, so behind eye, gills, etc would all be good choices. If you look in the pic - the spear was under the eye, by the jaw to gill area.......gill is directly back about an inch or two towards the tail.

Where should one (try to) shoot a trigger fish - just behind and above the eye?

It's always satisfying to stone a fish, but I'd rather hit the face/gill plate on a trigger and preserve the nice shoulder meat that is just behind the eye and the brain.
