Just a few items I wanted to highlight from all the informational links.

The US Dollar is the official currency. Traveler's checks and credit cards are widely accepted. Many places will NOT take $100 bills.

Tipping is much the same as in the States. Some restaurants add a 10-15% service charge automatically, so if in doubt, ask. Taxis - generally a 10% tip is greatly apppreciated. In dive shops, etc. 10% is also the norm. Tipping is a personal matter and these are just guidelines.

If you need something, the larger supermarkets are open from 7:30 or 8 AM until 7 PM (may close during lunch) and some may be open on Sundays from 11 AM to 2 PM.

The legal drinking age on Bonaire is 18 for both beer and other alcohol.
The legal age for gambling in a casino is 21.

The Dutch Caribbean has its own drug laws which are not the same as Holland. Their drug laws are not lenient.

Our DM's will rotate with our groups for the week so I am tipping mine at the end. However we will be on differant boats. I plan on tipping the boat crew the last day we'll be on that boat, but feel free to tip them daily if that works for you.

I base the amount I tip on the guidelines, BUT most importantly the service.

Again I want to stress, Tipping is a personal matter and these are just guidelines.

I think the Plaza had larger cups at the waterfront restaurant. We picked up some morning cups, and brought them back to our rooms, forgetting to return the cups till the last day.

Nice idea, but when you stayed at the quads their isn't any maid service. For our group, I'm sure the maids will take the cups when they clean the rooms.
