You need HELP!! The guy is wanted and will be arrested on sight in at least one country and charges pending in another.. They are no better than terrorist.. Wake up :dork2:.. Bet you believe in global warming too.

Decades ago when Global Warming was first theorized, part of the description of the disruption of the climate dealt with upper level Jet Steam changes that would result in wild unpredictable weather. Wyoming ski resorts some years having little snow while New Mexico has record years, and Canada being balmy while Georgia freezes. Higher temps over the Ocean increase evaporation so heavy snow in winter is to be expected just not in the same predictable geographic distribution. Lake effect snow is also different than in the past, and then there is the whole Ice Sheets breaking off thing!

I have spent about a half an hour searching for the wanted criminal status of Captain Paul Watson and do not find it.

Ummm, thats all been happening for millions of years. We just didn't have the ski resorts yet.

Is that why you can see by the prop wash that they were throttling into the big ship?? That is very clear..[/QUOT

They tried to move, probably in a state of disbelief and panic.
I seriously doubt they believed they were in
eminent danger of being run over until the last few seconds
and by then it was just too late.

Oh c'mon!!! If the Ady Gil hadn't move, the Whaler would not have hit it

Thanks to all that participated in this discussion. I hope to come back later for more .

The larger vessel that assaulted the smaller vessel was the one that caused the close quarters situation. Can you not conceive that when the swell jerked the 'Maru starboard the AG pilot thought the best action to avoid broadside might be forward, but the 'Maru turning hard port caused the AG pilot to regret his forward action? :shocked2:

First off if he turned hard to port ( that is to the left) he would have opened the angle to Ady Gil. Excluded the knee jerk reaction to pull in front of the path of a moving ship still does not seam a safe maneuver to me!

Yes the Maru could have opened the close quarter passing but looks to me he held his course. The Ady Gil pulled in front of the ship regardless if you know your port from starboard!:shakehead: The fact remains, they pulled in front of the ship.
See you topside! John

if you know your port from starboard!:shakehead:

You seem to "think you know what others mean" when they type, but in fact you do not even seem to know what they type. :shakehead:

If the AG pilot thought the 'Maru Captain "turned" hard starboard to ram, thrusting forward is a possible response.

If instead the swell "jerked" the 'Maru starboard then the "Maru Captain "turning" hard port might have only straightened her out before impact and then continuing straight could have been due to the collision.

In Frank's (Wookie) earlier use of port, in order to turn starboard to approach the AG, the 'Maru had to first turn port "a while back." Then as the attacking ship gets close it turns port again "to come alongside."

From the original positions, if the 'Maru had close approached, the AG just accelerates to go forward and away. By swinging wide the approach vector is such that the AG is less able to avoid.

Reading comprehension is always important when posing as a KIA!
