Normally where I am (mid atlantic) this is not much of a problem, but is resolved by utilizing air from the "airgon" bottle. More often the issue here is low temps which cause the sensor to drop in their ouput significantly.

Build your own 02 analyzer??? Please do not do something so dangerous and forgive my bluntness - stupid.

Oxygen toxicity is not a joke nor something to be taken lightly. This is your life. Don't risk it to save a few bucks. Get an analox or something like that. I paid 240 Euros for mine, and I have never had 1 single problem with it ever. It is warrantied, small, compact and water resistant and very tough. What if you get something wrong or the analysis is wrong. You die. Not worth it. Just invest in the proper equipment and dive safely

Most commercial O2 analysers started out life as homemade ones that got commercialised. Same with reels and lights....

So David, why do you think this is dangerous and studpid? What do you think you will get wrong??? Why do you think the analysis will be wrong????

It will either work or not. This is not about diving safely, this is about whether or not you have the basic intelligence, understanding, skills and ability to solder a few items together. I would opine that, besides being a rude, uncultured bore, you have none of the above. Maybe you should go read the post by one of the DIR/GUE big boys that suggest that you don't need an analyzer, you should just use a volt/ohm meter, a sensor and a calculator!

So take the cotton out of your ears and put it in your mouth and pay attention and maybe you will learn something. Oh, I forgot my manners, would you like a refill on your beverage? Here ya go

Ever take one of those "commercial" units apart?

I have.

Guess what's inside? A battery, a pot, a couple of fixed resistors and a panel meter.

Exactly the same thing that is inside the homemade ones.

My "personally constructed" unit verifies within 0.2% across gasses from free air to 100% O2.

BTW, the commercial specification for accuracy of that Analox (and the Minox-II) unit is within 1%.

You QUESTers are pretty hilarious.

Take a look at what I found on Ebay.

O2 Sensor

The guy says they are all still in the factory packaging and he has about 50 or 60 of them.

My sensors life ended about a month ago so I picked up a couple. At that price it's worth it.
