ScubaDiving magazine does some nice reviews on regs.

If price is your main objective, the Zeagle Envoy is a great reg for the $$$, but it is not sealed.

I second that. scubadiving has a ton of reviews and I used them extensively when deciding on what to buy. I went with the Envoy as my first budget reg. Great price and does the job nicely. When I'm ready to upgrade, it will become the wife's reg.

Web Monkey:
They should offer 100% of something. If they imply consumer protection of some sort, they should have a well-defined public policy that they implement fully and staff at any level to acheive their stated protections.

Otherwise they should make it very clear that it's every man for himself, and not bother with easy-to-fake "user feedback" or "consumer protection" policies that are virtually impossible to for the buyer to activate.

Quit playing lawyer. Everybody and their brother knows that Ebay is a markeplace site that brings buyers and sellers together, not a "store" that sells it's own products. Ebay policies are very clear for those who take the time to read them. Those who don't have the sense to read the policies of the site or the seller auction listing don't have the sense to be diving in the first place.

Anyone have experience with Aeris? I know I love the octo that comes with this package because my buddy has it and I got to play around with it. Of course I'd probably get the upgrade to the computer...

The octo isn't Aeris, it's a Mares/Dacor Viper. I have one, it's slim and symmetrical so you don't have to worry about which way you hand it off, but mine breathes a little wet. I also have an Aeris Atmos Pro reg and Aeris Gyro octo, they are excellent.

to respond to the OP, every single reg i've ever owned has been bought on line

i've never had a problem
