Can I test my spg without attaching it to a tank?

Mate, I would strongly encourage you to avail yourself of the manufacturer, a LDS or at least do more research in the future before striking out on your own. Your questions are well-intentioned but they seem somewhat superficial (i.e, “So, is it good?”) when we’re talking about your air circuit to breathe underwater.

As an aside, I hope you didn’t use the wrench to crank down on your hoses at the first stage thinking that will help seal better. They aren’t hydraulic hoses. Too much force on your hoses runs the risk of damaging the hose’s swedge fitting.
 
OP, just go test your gear in a pool or shallow water to make sure everything functiond ok...don't get too hung up on the more hyperbolic posts here.
