I'm a Fish!
Am looking at two packages, which are identical with Fisheye FIX housing, wide angle lens and macro lens and Inon S-2000 strobe.

Difference is one is a S95 camera and one is the G12.

Cameras appear to be very close except for the view-finder.

Any suggestions on which option people would choose?

Advantages and disadvantages for both?

Can't seem to make up my mind.

If you do more macro get the G12. If you do more wide angle go for the S95.

Both cameras use the same sensor so they have similar capabilities. The G12 is set up to be a more "advanced" camera than the S95. As mentioned above, the G12 is considered to be more macro capable.

It depends on how comfortable you are in using the features of the camera. I find my G11 to be easy to use so I use its more advanced features as a matter of course.

I don't know that I would agree the G12 is more advanced than the S95. In any case, the S95 is a more capable/versatile camera IMO with a full stop faster lens. The S series as well works much better with wide angle lenses, has adequate macro capability and with the FIX or Recsea housings can go from macro to normal to wide angle to ultrawide (fisheye) in the same dive, the G series cannot. Therefore IMO, the S series is the more advanced and capable camera system when coupled with the FIX or Recsea housings. Don't think camera alone, think system, the combined capabilities of the S series and the mentioned housings is THE go to system for prosumer P&S users and is currently unmatched by any other similar camera.

I have to agree. I have shot my S90 with 1 or 2 stacked macros, native lens, and Inon UFL-165AD fisheye lens on the same dive, while my buddy with the G11 cursed his decision to fit his W/A port (or not to). The flexibility is unmatched. Think system, buy S95, Fisheye or FIX, carry wet lenses, capture everything.
