I agree that SMB is usually not needed in the dive park but one time I wished I had one.
During my AOW class we did the deep dive at the Sue Jac and unusually strong current pushed us into the harbor (it was a pretty busy weekend with quite a bit of boat traffic). The harbor patrol must have seen our bubbles outside the park. They were already shielding us with one of their boats when we surfaced and until we were back in the dive park. The swim back was probably the hardest surface swim I've done so far.
