Florida is the only option for me and I really would like to dive the Cenotes some day.

I immediately thought of Brucie's account, but wasn't sure if your post was in jest or not. Apparently so. :D

I second Andy's recommendations. I did my training with Johnny, but Rick was one of the finalists in my list, scheduling just didn't work out.
 
Both of them are WONDERFUL instructors. :D
Now I could possibly see an instructor blocking an entrance with some people trying to enter without reels. Maybe the instructor thought they were not cave trained. But whatever.
