How difficult are these shore dives? It seems like they are all 100 yards offshore to get to the good stuff. I have seen a lot of youtube videos where divers are using Sea scooters.

How do people usually dive these famous shore dives?

If you look at the map at the bottom of this site it shows that the first ledge is almost 100 yards off of shore.

Surface swim out to buoy and drop down on the mini wall (Lighthouse) Reef (Eden Rock/Devils Grotto).I am terrible with distance but I don't think they are 100 yards out but I may be wrong.

Neither of those dives are difficult.

Turtle Reef is the shortest of the three. They are all easy in good conditions which is most of the time. I think Lighthouse is the longest of the three but to its mini wall is still not that far. The swim out to the deep wall is. My advice on diving Eden/Grotto is to pick a non cruise ship day and Sun is by far the best as no traffic and easy drive in and out of GT as most businesses in GT closed on Sun.

PS Divetech at Lighthouse rents scooters and offers guided scooter dives. That may be what you are seeing on YT

We did Devil's Grotto about 2 weeks ago. Made a relaxed swim to the mooring ball on our backs. It was calm, but you might want a snorkel. Don't use your tank air. Took <10min to reach the pin, again with a very slow, relaxed pace. Take a minute or two to catch your breath, if necessary. Max depth was 38 ft, and it was a very easy dive with loads of swim-thrus. We did the return swim at 10 ft rather than on the surface, since we had the air.

For Turtle Reef - the mini-wall starts around "Reservations"

We took the new "hot pink" scooters out to the main wall last August. It was fun and we saw 5 Hawksbill Turtles on that dive, including one down the wall at 108'. It was worth doing once, but I prefer a slower dive exploring the miniwall, to the left and right.

I also like to grab a AL100, surface swim to the miniwall and head right until you see a line heading out to the main wall - then drop down to about 20' and swim over the sand past the coral nursery trees to the coral finger where you can descend a little deeper and follow it out to the main wall. It's a great dive and the main wall is quite dramatic there! You can see the coral finger on the site map here:

Are the mooring balls you refer to next to the statue (Guardian of the reef)? The link has an image of the dive at the bottom of it's page.
