I got a very cheap knife today from a local surplus/oddity/conspiracy nut store (The Second Chance). Actually, at only $5, I bought two of them. One to put in my first aid kit (FAK), and the other to leave in my Jeep.

Pictures attached. Colour is "EMT Orange." Blade is marked "440 Steel - China". Probably not great for underwater use - but at $5, what the hell? If nothing else, it's a great FAK item.

Note the "window breaker" on one end. This is the main reason why I bought one to leave in the Jeep.

Looks great for $5 !!! If it is sharp and the line cutter works, it seems like an excellent back-up knife. I always carry two knives after I ran into an issue after I dropped my primary. I would be willing to bet that if you coated the blade in vasoline and rinsed it after diving, that the knife would last for a while in the BC pocket.
