cheap tickets to Au?

Hello All!

Recently there was an ad for 800$ rdtrip tickets on Quantas airlines from LA to Brisbane and then on to Cairnes, AU, I didn;t book the flight, much to my chagrin , Iwas wondering if anyone has seen decent airfares? Now I am getting very high prices?

Any thoughts?

Hi -
I just booked my flight ticket on Monday to Australia through United Airlines. It was from Vancouver, BC, and it was only $979!!! In Canadian Dollars, which is about $700USD! It may be cheaper since you wouldn't be needing the additional flight from Vancouver to LA. The only thing was, there was a maximum of 1 month stay....

Quantas do come up with cheap flights from time to time. I have seen them advertised for $700-$2000
