I just don't log dives
Looked through this forum, and couldn't find an answer, so would like to post this question:

I just flooded my Cobra (and it's toast), and would like to stay with Suunto. I can find used Cobra 2's for less than what a replacement module for my Cobra would be, and can find used Cobra 3's for just slightly more than that.

Can someone give me a breakdown of the three apparent generations of Cobra dive computers?

Thanks!

Cobra 3 fixed a problem with the Cobra 2's electronic compass being intolerant of tilt, if I understand correctly. If you don't care about the compass, go with the Cobra 2. There may be more differences than that, but that one has been mentioned.

Warren, owner of Tom's Dive and Swim in Austin, says the Cobra 2 is the worst computer than Suunto has ever sold. He has had a lot of problems with them and tries to get Suunto to trade out 2's for 3's.

Warren is a super nice guy and I would talk with him. Never steered me wrong and I trust his opinions.
