Hello,

Are you an experienced diver who loves sharks and remote locations? Do you want to personally contribute to sea turtle and shark research and conservation? Then join PRETOMA and the Sea Turtle Restoration Network for a ten day trip to Cocos Island where you can help tag sharks and turtles for conservation purposes!

Spaces are still available for the next trip, September 18-28, 2011. Note that trip costs may be tax-deductible in the U.S.

I've done this trip twice so far, and both times it has been a spectacular experience - sharks on every single dive, huge schools of fish, baitballs, island beauty, and more! I was last there in March on a tagging trip and we had scores of hammerheads with us on multiple dives; we saw a total of six different species of shark during the trip: scalloped hammerheads, whitetip reef, whale, silky, tiger, and Galapagos. Incredible.

For more information go to: Sea Turtle Restoration Project : 2011 Cocos Island Sea Turtle and Hammerhead Shark Tagging Volunteer Expeditions led by STRP and PRETOMA.
