I’m one of the Instructors at Costa Rica Dive & Surf in Dominical. We are a small PADI shop in Dominical who does training as well as charters. We dive Isla del Canó National Park and “local” diving between Dominical and Ballena National Park.
Isla del Canó is an 800 acre uninhabited Costa Rican National Park, roughly a 1 ½ boat ride from Dominicalito Bay. We dive the reefs surrounding the Island. The visibility at Canó is usually 60 ft. +, with reef shark sightings on nearly every dive. Humpback Whales are often seen from the boat between June – September, but it is possible to see and hear them all year. The Canó trip is a 2 tank full day trip with a picnic lunch provided on the island.
Locally, we have a reef system that we dive between Dominical and Ballena National Park in Uvita. We are always finding largely unexplored, new dive spots. We are excited about a coral pinnacle we found two weeks ago 15 minutes from where we launch our boat. With the ocean and weather cooperating we have really nice visibility, and plenty of fish to see. Local dives are usually 2 tank ½ day trips.
Come stop by the shop in Dominical, and say hello, and book a trip.
