Seems like it. 
It also depends on the type of Forum Skin you've chosen. Some skins do not show the contdown events.

As our friendly greeters indicated, only the SB Portal Templates (aka styles aka themes) show the count down timers, but yes, yours is working!

BTW, if you can't see your countdown counter or mine, you have the wrong them. You change that under User CP > Edit Options > Miscellaneous Options > Forum Skin to "SB Portal Theme."
