As far as I can make out from google translation, he was from Cuba, living in Italy, diving with a Puerto Rican dive club...

Immersione fatale al Giglio Choc per la morte dell'imprenditore-sub
Google translation...
PORTO RECANATI - Entrepreneur dies during a dive on the island of Giglio. It happened yesterday morning just after 12.30 while he was doing a dive in front of the Le Scole cliff, in the same spot where on January 13th 2013 the Costa Concordia was wrecked.
The diver, Larano Saez, 54 years of Cuban origin, resident in Porto Recanati and a member of the Smile Diving sub association, had arrived the day before with a group of friends from the sub group and his partner. He had taken a few moments of relaxation to devote completely to his passion: diving and the seabed. Yesterday was his second day of vacation. However, as soon as he was immersed, around 12.40, he felt ill. Initially rescued by a boat that was not far away, it was transported by the operators of the 118 with the Pegaso helicopter to the nearest hospital in Grosseto in a desperate attempt to save his life. For the diver, however, there was nothing to do: he died on the spot under the eyes of his companion who had immersed himself with him. According to a first reconstruction of the soldiers of the coast guard and of the carabinieri of the station of Giglio the man was on the spot with a diving of Monte Argentario for a dive. The day was characterized by strong sea currents.
Apparently the diver would have suffered an illness just moments after the dive. The diving, seeing that the man was in serious difficulty breathing, would have brought him back to the surface and transported to the nearest reef before he lost consciousness. From that moment, however, the diver never recovered. A few meters from him was the companion who had also immersed herself a few minutes before. The woman initially would not even have noticed the malaise of the man. Shortly after, not seeing him near, he went up and found him together with the diving on the cliffs already examined. With them also other friends with a passion for diving.
Rescuers have done the impossible to wrest the entrepreneur from death: having arrived on the cliff with a boat from Giglio Porto they have tried to revive him for over an hour. Together with them the doctors of the helicopter who have lowered themselves with a winch.
Unfortunately it didn't help. Larano Saez died of cardiac arrest. On the spot the carabinieri and the men of the local coastguard who proceeded to seize the equipment used by the diver to exclude any other possible cause of death. The death of Saez threw the Puerto Rican association into disarray which knew very well the experience of man in terms of diving. A group of friends with a passion for the sea and the seabed in common.
The Puerto Rican association had made several trips to the seabed that Saez loved so much. The same background that was fatal to him. The body of the sub Portoroecanatese is now available to the Grosseto judicial authorities for the ritual exams.

He was of Cuban origin, he was legally resident in a Italy and an entrepreneur in Italy. He lived in Portorecanati and he was on holiday in Tuscany. He was diving in Giglio island. He was a member of a diving club, as far as my Italian allows the origin of the club is unspecified but appears to be from the region he lived in (Marche),
