It is with great sadness that Dennis Hale sole survivor of the Daniel J Morrell passed away on the morning of sept 2nd. For those of us who listened to his incredible story of survival and for the fewer of us that has dove the wreck and participated with those who discovered her, let's remember that the next time we visit the wreck or hear the tragic tale that Dennis was our last living link to such a momentous event in our local history that will be remembered for decades to come.

RIP Dennis. I'm looking forward to diving the Morrell next summer. He will be in my thoughts.

I was fortunate to be able to hear his story personally from him last fall. A very lucky man to have survived such an ordeal. Rest in peace.
