Weight outside adds to the displacement, even though it's just a little bit. Increased displacement -increased buopyancy so you have to add MORE lead if you put it outside. Also inside you can position it in the housing to make the trim perfect!

60-40 solid solder in bar or wire form can be wound and wrapped about the camera or battery with very little room required, and multiple pads can be used if needed for trim placement. The solder wire makes triming to exactly the required weight very easy.
