Hi All,
I am interested in finding out about the experiences of people who have been to operations catering for the DIR divers.
Here are some points of interest to me, feel free to add as you please
1. What was the main difference from other operations?
2. What type of equipment is available for rent?
3. Was there scooters for rent?
4. Were the dive guides GUE trained?
5. If you did tech 1 or 2 level dives, was there a guide at depth?
6. What type of in-water support was offered?
7. Where you filmed through the dives?
8. Could you rent video cameras?
9. Could you rent video cameras mounted on scooters?
10. How many RB80 did they have on board?
11. Was there a resident GUE instructor?
12. Was all the staff on the boat or facility GUE trained including helpers and deckhands?
14. What was the cost of Gas fills was there better pricing for standard mixes?
15. What sort of diver deployment protocols were in place?
16. Was there a general briefing on safety and emergency protocols that was emphasized by drills.
17. What gear was available for sale.
18. Was there the full range of DIR courses on offer.
This just part of a review I am conducting to find out what other people are offering and what the DIR diver is really looking for. So please feel free to add things that I might have missed that you would like to see in a dive operation.
