Hello All,

We'll be in Maui and Kaui beginning this coming Sunday! I'm looking to schedule a discover scuba experience for my girlfriend (probably in Maui since we'll be there until Wed.) and would like to tag along on the dive - is this usually allowed by the dive shops? Also, any recommendations on the discover scuba experience? Shore/Boat? Recommended dive shops?

Thanks!

Also, you guys recommend bringing my own B.C. (zeagle ranger)? I was definitely planning on bringing my regs but don't know about my b.c.

If you've got the room and the gear... I'd use my own, but then again I don't like borrowing/renting gear that may or may not fit me... What part of Maui will you be staying? Lahaina you can check with Dan at Pacific Dive http://www.pacificdive.com , if staying in Kihei PM Shaka Doug (Shaka Divers) here on the board or at http://www.shakadivers.com

Have fun on Maui!

Aloha, Tim

Shaka Doug looks like a fun guy and I think his divers are pretty satisfied.

For dive shops everyone here knows I love B&B Scuba. I just took a rebreather course with them and although I have thousands of dives under my belt I'm a total beginner with the rebreather. I felt they gave my wife and I all the attention we needed and more.

Great boat dives with them.

We'll be in Kihei so I'll check out Shaka also... I've been reading that MDDC is also recommended...

Are things pretty busy there? i.e. do I need to book something now or can I wait till we get there?

agreed - summertime most of the "good" shops get swamped - B&B doesn't even advertise, but it's hard to find a slot on board with them during the busy seasons
