You have to be careful around shell island. You have to know where the state parks ends if you want to do any type of spearing or anything like that. Also I have never seen any bugs around shell island. I don't think it's deep enough.

I am going to be in Destin this weekend. How is the water looking? Does the storm have the Gulf all churned up?
I would like to get in atleast two dives. Mostly this weekend is for my husband and I to have a get-away from it all weekend. He does not dive so I don't want to take away from our time.
He does snorkel with me though and I was wondering if there are any good suggestions for snorkeling in Destin.
