dove it 3-09-06 and just letting everyone know that dive quest is defineatly worth it.i had spent some time looking at post on the board concerning this dive before i went.i was skeptical but figured since i had to be at disney for my daughters cheerleading national championships i would give it a try(at least i would get a chance to dive).the experience was more than i could have expected.they treat you 1st class all of the way.at this time they also have more animals than they have listed in all of their media pubs due to coastal aquirium damage.11 sharks(one over 9ft),3-4 multi specie turtles, rays, spotted eagle ray,350 lb grouper etc.in addition they give you over half the dive time as free dive.you recieve a certficate, photo, dive log entry and a optional dvd.(all money goes to disney wildlife conservation fund)5.7 million gallons, 200+ vis, complete array of species, first class treatment, what else could you ask for.the dive master also told me that the tank can be rented for $1000 for up to 12 divers.this is alot cheaper than normal even after variousdiscounts that you may recieve
if you have the chance,do make this dive at least once...............
and to answer the question that i have seen debated most on the boards, yes you get in to the park without paying admission and yes they do let you back into the park when the dive is finished.

How do you get into the park early "without paying" if you are signed up and paid to do the dive quest dives?????

when I did it - you don't get in early, but they meet you just outside the gate at a designated spot before your session and take you in. And they just let us into the park afterwards, depending on time of year not time really to do a lot but good for watching the fireworks and maybe hitting a couple things.

The original posted stated in the last line of his post that you got in free - then you did the dive quest thing - then you got back in free again.

At least that's the way I read it.

you actually wait outside of the gate at the guest service.they come get you from there and then walk you in the back of the aqurium.after the dive is complete, they release you out the front of the aqurium.the length of time in the park would be according to which dive you make (earlier or later).either way they have great places to eat(different country themes) and the have a great firework show.

I did the Aqua tours in the living seas which is the snorkel version of dive quest. I had a blast. The best part is seeing all the people behind the glass pointing at you. We didn't get released into the park after the tour but were escorted to the entrance. This may have been because it was a 12 noon tour. The equipment, visibility and attitude were all great. There is also a restaurant where people can look at you while you dive. People have a lot of fun playing with their family behind the glass. I can't wait til I'm certified so I can do the DiveQuest.

You have to leave (the park) once the dive is over?

No, after the dive is over you are free to use the rest of the park until it closes.

When I was there in July '04 they did two dives a day, morning and afternoon. Obviously the former offers better value if you haven't been to Epcot before.

I used this to get a discount http://www.naui.org/image_main/about/corp_alliances/dive_quest_coupon.pdf

It's a fun little dive, worth doing even if only for the novelty value.

I did that a few years back, was an absoloutly amazing dive, and worth the money as a one off experience. It set my parents at ease about what i was doing, as they were able to watch me during a dive (they're non divers)
