Aiding students to bridge the gap from online learning to "check out" dives.

TUSTIN, Calif., October 23, 2007 – DiveNav Inc., an innovative company developing leading-edge services and products that will enable the user friendly exploration of our oceans by the recreational and educational communities, is planning to demonstrate at the DEMA Show 2007, booth 877, its new eDiving online service.

DiveNav recently demonstrated its patent pending vDive technology which integrates a custom designed next generation 3D Engine, optimized for rendering underwater scenery, with extremely high resolution bathymetry models, satellite images, terrain maps, habitat data, and animated 3D models of marine life. Additionally vDive includes a fully featured heads up display computer, a customized and easy to use graphical interface and an accurate behavioral model of the diver.

The eDiving online service, will allow students to review and "virtually practice", from the comfort of their home, the concepts and theory learned in class; as an example they could exercise with buoyancy control, select proper weight or see first hand how air consumption changes with depth. Additionally, by loading the appropriate eDive site from the eDiving server, a student could familiarize with a specific area before the check-out dives.

Dive operators and dive professionals could use eDiving to attract new potential divers, by taking them on a virtual tour of a local eDive site, and to retain existing divers, by having them "virtual diving" also when weather conditions or lack of time would prevent them from getting underwater.

DiveNav is currently beta testing eDiving and is anticipating its formal release in December 2007.
