SEATTLE – A diver who got hung up underwater in some buoy lines in Elliott Bay died Tuesday.

A scuba instructor and his student found the man near Seacrest Marina Park near Alki late Tuesday afternoon. It's not clear how long the 40-year-old man was underwater.

The instructor says it appeared the man got caught in a buoy and may have run out of air.

Paramedics tried CPR on the man after he was pulled from the water, but was pronounced dead a short time later. The victim has not been identified.
