Us Slavs have nothing to live for so dieing doing something stupid is not that scary.

On a more serious note all of the old school divers I know think of diving to 100m on air as the pinacle of scuba and everyone wants to be good enough to do it. It's a opinion that is very prolific among a lot of eastern europeans.

My OW instructor told a story about a couple he caught on the way down in a similar setup (Bahamas? -- I forget): a shallow reef shelf, then the wall going down into blue yonder. Apparently they were just dropping down the wall laughing, narc'ed out of their wits, with no clue as to their depth or direction. He reckoned there's a good chance he saved two lives on that dive.
