Not much on details. Does it seem that this destination gets a lot of diver deaths?

MNDF finds body of diver who went missing
The body of a tourist who went missing while diving was discovered by the police on Wednesday evening.

Divers from MNDF Coast Guard and the diving boat that took the tourist out are currently attempting to recover the body.

Officials received reports of a missing diver around 1.30pm on Wednesday afternoon. His body was discovered around 4.30pm.

The identity or the nationality of the tourist has not been revealed yet.

Tragic incidents at sea have been on the rise during the recent weeks. Both the police and Tourism Ministry have urged to take necessary precautions when in water to avoid tragic accidents.

Hi,
As always it's sad to see another "diver death" reported but in response to your question,
all I would say is look at the number of posts you have made in this forum and see how many are from incidents in, for example, Hawaii compared to Maldives?.

It will be interesting to find out where this accident happened within the country, was it land based or from a safari boat?.
In general terms the Maldivian press is quite good at giving up this information and I expect we will find out quite soon.

was it land based or from a safari boat?.
The brief article does mention "the diving boat that took the tourist out"
