Unfortunately I was unable to dive on tuesday the 17th. The wifey got kind of upset about me making the plans and SUPRISING her with it. Due to the fact that my wife and I have to rent gear right now, she was mad about me renting the gear, something about using that money for x-mas gifts, blah blah blah... Oh well, Hopefully after the new year I can buy my own stuff and go when I darn well please.

Yikes! You've got it rough if you need permission to spend $30 or $40!!!!

Maybe you can write a letter to Santa for your dive gear.:xmastree::madnoel:

Show her who wears the pants! I did in all 8 of my marriages.

Well we dove Sugar Barge today. It is directly across the street from SeaTrek dive shop.

It's a little ways out (maybe 25 yards or so) and there are approximately four buys marking the spot.

The wreck is pretty dismantled and there's not much to see. It's in about 11 feet of water (at least today). Vis was approx 3-5 feet. We saw marine life (grouper, lobster, sand dollars, a silver fish) and ONE piece of coral lol.

It was a rough dive. It was my first salt water. The current was kicking pretty good and on the way back in there was a considerable undertow. At one point, I was kicking as hard as I can but was not moving due to the undertow being in the opposite direction.

We learned alot though today.

Also, tonight I completed the equipment specialist course. One LDS offers it free once a month (you can pay for the pic card if you want). I attended and learned more about the physics and how equipment works. We also covered how to properly clean/store gear and assemble a save-a-dive kit.
