I'd just wait until I'm down to 100 psi. Or 500, or whatever.AFAIK there's no penalty for a longer SS. There's a guess based on anecdotal evidence that it's an advantage with Cressi & Suunto "RGBM" algorithms.
While a good safety stop reduces the chances of DCS, it also delays the more efficient off-gassing that will occur on the surface.
And there is always the question of whether you are unnecessarily holding up other divers or the dive operator, or unnecessarily shortening your SI
