Here's a new DIY tank light I'm almost done with... It uses 3 CMOS ICs to produce a back-and-forth motion across a row of 10 red brake-light LEDs, like the Cylons or Knight Rider. It's housed inside of a 1-3/8" ID x 1-3/4" OD x 10" Long acrylic tube, with custom end caps, and bolts on in between the tank bands of double tanks. It's powered by 4 rechargeable AAA NiMH batteries and turns on when it comes in contact with water.
