Congrats! Just got my DM finished and got my card! Now the work begins. Got my first OW cert trip coming up this weekend at Ginnie Springs and have been writing out my pre/post dive briefs. I have yet to dive the Great Lakes. I have family up east of Cleveland, so I need to get wet up there!

Happy diving!

Open water checkouts at Ginnie Springs? None of the basins at Ginnie are really appropriate (nor meet standards ... at least not PADI's ... I can't speak to the other agencies) for OW checkouts. I really don't want to be a butt, but man I wish they'd stop doing OW checkouts there. The basins simply are not deep enough nor large enough to be adequate for OW checkouts. I appear to be in the minority however as you see OW checkouts being done there all the time. IMO it's a disservice to students to do checkouts at such a limited site.
