double steels

a little help please....
i was recently given a brand new?? set of steelies
circa 1967 us divers
AA 1800.....
same height as steel 72s AA2250
what is aprox. volume as compared to 2250 72's???
i am debating on getting hydro and using single-but not if they end up 60cf

A 72 is 65 cf at 2250 psi,so they would be less than that. I would keep them as doubles.

Up load a photo on here and post that you have them on Vintage Double Hose. Those steels should have a lot of years left in them as long as they don't have a lot of pitting. If they have the 3/4" valve thread they should be more desirable then the pipe thread tanks.

If you are not into the vintage era, then sell them and use the funds to get yourself a good set of more modern doubles if that is the way you want to go.

That could be a set of 1970's 72's, some post 1990 aluminum 80's, LP 85's, or 100's.

There are plenty for sale on this web site or on the Deco Stop. Also check craigs list and your local dive shops to see if they have any sets for sale.

i have 5- 72"s that i use with j valves from the 60s and was going to do the same...
'til i noticed the 1800 stamp.......
nice backplate and rod though!!!!!
