I am planning a trip to bonaire for our Scuba CLub, and we want to go somewhere that is close to downtown. I would also like to find some place that has their own house reef that we can dive in the mornings. Anyone have a link to a map of the island and where some of the hotels are?

Divi Flamingo and Buddy Dive have both been recommended. How far a walk is BUddy Dive from downtown restaraunts? Any suggestions?

Tom

Too far to walk from Buddy Dive.

About the only place close enough to walk to downtown is the Divi Flamingo.

Every resort on the water has their own house reef. IMO the best three are Sand Dollar's (Bari Reef), Habitat(Cliff/LaMachaca) and Buddy's.

PM sent about the link.

Why would you want to walk? You will most likely have a truck included in your package deal and you'll definitely want transportation to shore dive.......that's the beauty of Bonaire! You will love it!

1.5 miles from Buddy's to the plaza area in town.

Why would you walk when a vehicle comes with your room package???? Unless, of course, you just like to walk.

There are plenty of restaraunts a short walk from Habitat/Buddy Dive and Sand Dollar.
The hotels own restaraunts Rum Runners/Lions Den/Sunrise

Den Laman Restaurant, Patagonia, Bistro de Paris, La Balandra Pasa bon

Have a great trip

I would not worry about being close to town. Your going to need a vehicle anyway to do shore diving so you already have it. There are plenty of places to park downtown so finding a parking space is not a problem.

Having been part of a sports team for years... the most common reason for them to ask to be able to walk 'to town' from hotel was that nobody would need to be the designated driver :D

Not assuming you have not the healthier desire in mind though, of course.
