From BBC News - Divers rescued after drifting off Wembury, Plymouth
Two divers have been rescued from the sea near Plymouth after drifting one-and-a-half miles from their boat in choppy conditions.
The man, 50, and woman, 54, were diving off Wembury on Saturday and Brixham Coastguard was alerted at 16:00 BST.
The rescue helicopter from RAF Chivenor, Plymouth RNLI lifeboat, and Plymouth and Yealm coastguard teams assisted with the search.
The couple were found by the helicopter crew and taken ashore by police boat.
The pair, who were from Sheffield and Derbyshire, had been in the water for more than two hours, but were not injured.
Andy Huber, watch manager at Brixham Coastguard said: "We have strong winds this weekend and the water is choppy which makes it hard for divers to see any great distance when they surface.
"These conditions also make it difficult to locate a diver in the water from a vessel."
He added: "Always check the weather and the conditions carefully before setting out on a trip."
