Hi everyone,

I've been considering getting a new drysuit lately, and have been focusing on the Bare suits for a few reasons. I'm deciding between the Trilam ATR and the XCD2 suits. I know a bit about the differences between crushed and trilam suits, but I'm just looking for some (hopefully) new points of view.

First off, what are the differences between the durability of the Bare 2 mm crushed vs. Bare's high-end trilam (i.e. in the ATR suit). Also, is the 2 mm crushed significantly warmer than the trilam? And is 2 mm crushed TOO warm for warmer conditions (i.e. 70s water temp and 70s-80s air temp)? Finally, from what I gather, crushed suits are made to give a closer fit than trilam, resulting in a more streamlined suit... is that true?

On a different note, how do you (the people) find the Rock-like boots vs. traditional rubber drysuit boots?

If anyone else has any other comments to make, please feel free... I'd appreciate any input. Thanks dudes.

Hi Josh,

I know your posting is pretty old, but I'm in the exact same boat right now. I'm wondering what type of suit you decided to go with and what boot option you chose?

Happy Diving!
