I'm currently in the middle of my open water certification classes and have been researching various regulators. I found an article reviewing the GT3 on divernet.com:

http://www.divernet.com/cgi-bin/articles.pl?id=5250&section=2019&action=display&show=

The article said the first stage made an annoying noise when breathing. This was attributed to the DVT bullet springing back in place.

I read another post entitled Oceanic Reg Noise: http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=147964&highlight=DVT+noise%3F

It talked about a white bullet versus a red bullet. Was the white bullet the noise maker and the red bullet the fix?

Any info is appreciated.

When the DVT first hit the stores we had a small percentage that created a harmonic noise or for lack of a better term; honked. We did change from a white bullet to a red one but that was done to make the DVT stand out more. At this writing I rarely hear of reports of the current DVT regulators honking and the regulators have been performing very well. GT-3 or it's big brother the Delta 4.

Regards,
Darryl

Thanks...no problems with the Alpha 8 DVT either I assume?
