Here at Ecodiving we would like to share with everyone here on ScubaBoard some of the sights we have been seeing recently.

The Whale Shark season is in full swing till about the end of the month but what a season it has been so far with our tours having less time travelling to find the amazing Whale Sharks, numbers reaching 75+ every time we visit and seen in the picturesque clear blue waters of the Caribbean making snorkelling with them a true pleasure. A lot of our guests have been able to just drop into the water and have the Sharks swim by them without any effort.

Due to the high numbers and clear ocean, we have been able to make some great footage of these beautiful creatures, check them out on our website:

Our dives to Puerto Morelos shipwreck have been another sight to see with schools of Eagle Rays gliding by in the strong currents that sometimes pass over the position of the wreck. These beautifully marked graceful creatures make everyone’s day especially if they decide to come in for a look at you. The wreck itself is great fun too, with lots of life and large enough inside to have a swim through and see all the insides of the ship. On the same link as above you can see the videos we have of the Eagle Rays and the wreck.

Night diving Playa has also been really interesting recently with the majestic octopus being a regular sight, seeing these nocturnal creatures change colours and markings in front of your eyes is fascinating for even the most experienced diver. As for first time sightings of the octopus it blows some people away with the abilities they have. Sleeping or resting turtles is another memorable sight, not too close though. We are here to see only, not to disturb or affect natural behaviours.

We hope the fun continues through the winter with the sailfish snorkelling and bull shark diving !!
