Man in his 50s dies after getting into difficulties while diving
Police have confirmed that a man in his 50s has died after getting into difficulties while diving with two of his friends near Brixham on Saturday.

Police were called just before 1.50pm on to Shoalstone Beach in Brixham following reports of a man in the water.

Divers and a jet-skier also went to the aid of the man , and provided first aid to the casualty until emergency services arrived at the scene.

Two air ambulances were sent along with both Torbay lifeboats, coastguards, police and paramedics .

The man in his 50s was pronounced deceased at hospital.

The death is not believed to be suspicious and CID are assisting HM Coroner.

Enquiries are being carried out on behalf of HM Coroner.
