In 2005 I did the Peter Hughes Sun Dancer II in Belize and could not have been happier. The only inconvience was that we arrived early and were not allowed to board till late in the day. But, the hotel had a bar so most people were content. The Sun Dancer II is an enormous boat, so large in fact that I rarely took note when the boat was under way. The crew was top-notch, all of them.

Since I have never been aboard the Nekton or Aggressor fleet I have no personal experiences. The week we were there the Nekton boat was not in port and the Aggresssor was not sailing. I have a friend however that says they share the same dive site moorings.

About safety concerns. Personally, if I am going to spend this much on a dive trip, I would avoid going during tornado seasonal together. Regardless charter.

If you are going to do any land base activities in Belize, bear in mind that the mosquitoes are visious, plan accordingly. Personally there were not any land base activities that interested me and the country itself is very poor.

For those who enjoy being pampered, I can't imagine a better live-aboard.
