I've been thinking about giving this a shot but had a few questions. I live a couple of miles from JW Fishers shop so that would make a logical choice for which detector to use.

How far under can these things detect?

Once you find something how do you dig it up without ruining your visibilty?

How far under can these things detect?
do you mean detection depth of a target? varies by manufacter but on average around 8 to 12 inches.
If you mean how deep can you take them that also varies from around 100 to 200 feet.

if your'e in nice clean substrate such as a nice sandy bottom with a little current it's easy. if you're in what we usually dive in welcome to braile/muck diving.
