First Recorded Shark attack in Galapagos

Saw this happened on Christmas day down off San Cristobal...it's only a small piece from a New Zealand website, but still interesting non-the-less

I'd be curious to know what type of shark it probably was that bit him...

Whew... "good" to hear he was surfing and not diving. That's one reason I've never taken up that other "sport."

Heard that the breaks over at the naval office is the area where the guy was bitten...From the looks of it he's awfully lucky the shark didn't thrash its head and tear his leg off/apart...
