This is my first thread on ScubaBoard. I’m a newbie here and to diving in general, only been diving for about 4 years so, I consider myself to be a novice. Hope you guys will be able to help me out from time to time….here is my first problem….

Does any one know where I can get a hose to fit my Gates/Hunter drysuit (PRO VSN 1100)? I bought an apex hose but the connector was so very slightly too small. The valve is a ‘gates’ valve….any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Durg

As I understand the Gates valves are just Apeks valves with a different logo on them.

Apeks supply two kinds of inflator connector ('CEJN' and 'Seatec'). The CEJN one is slightly larger as it has a bigger bore. The Seatec one is identical to that found on most BCD power inflators. When put side by side the size difference is pretty obvious. Another way to tell them apart is the location of the locking groove. On a Seatec it is near the base on an CEJN it is near the tip.

A third type of connector (to add to the confusion  ) is a 'Buddy'. These are almost identical to a Seatec and will work with the same hose with a bit of wiggling (not recommended). These are only usually found on BCDs so it is unlikely to be one of those unless someone has been tinkering.

As for a source, depends where you are. These people are pretty good:
