Well after a long discussion with my LDS I decided to purchase the Sherwood Blizzard Pro. Looked really hard at the Zeagle Onyx 2 . In the end it came down to a recommendation from the LDS they simply said it was easier to service and get kits for than the Zeagle.

Yes I was aware of this issue, asked my LDS they were only aware of 1 issue with a BCD they had sold. Sherwood replaced it no issue. Now that being said as I read thru the comments in that thread, seems they are mostly boat divers. Locally here it's mostly shore dives. Not an excuse for a faulty product, but just wondering if it's the shock jumping off the boat that causes the breakage.
@Scott Mclaughlin would check this out before purchasing an Avid.

Avid BC / Broken strap holder (lower)

Chevk with what local divers use and why. I have learned that some reg brands have very different service costs.

Went with a Sherwood blizzard pro, two year 200 dive service interval, parts are free for service just gotta pay labour. It's what the LDS recommended for our conditions. (8c salt water)

This is bad form running down equipment that you don't have personal experience with - I heard, my friends mom says, my girlfriends ex boyfriend said. . .
Sherwood has a very long history in the industrial gas and recreational valve business.
If they had dealers and support in the West more than they do now, I'd probably be a lot more interested in their products. I did see a couple diving SR1's a few weeks ago and those regs looked pretty nice to me
( This isn't directed to the shop owner on this thread.)
